I am a Native American (Sioux/Arikara). I currently reside abroad (Japan). I would like to leave you with the following message from my heart to yours: To the people of the Snow Owl Home Page and affiliates, My Family (The Plenty Chief/Wise Spirit's of Standing Rock Indian Reservation), Relatives, Old friends, New friends, Standing Rock Indian Reservation and for all the people of the Indian Nations and the world: May this Holiday season and coming New year be full of great happiness and prosperity for all our family's. We can only be victorious in life by living our lives from the present to the future. Most unfortunately we cannot change our past, no matter how painful or difficult it may seem or be, but to continue to do so, nothing will ever change for us, or people, and most importantly our environment, the world. Our world. When one person's life changes, so will his environment, and so on and so on. Wisdom and compassion are a far greater means of success and happiness for the Native American people, our Nation and the world over. By all means, we must engage in heart to heart dialogue, (Family, Friends Old and New.) No matter what the situation maybe, and no matter how long it may take. We should never ever resort to violence (Abuse of any sort). Violence only creates more violence. I believe history from the beginning of time can and will prove this fact of cruel inhumanity. A person who says he/she respects life, would by all means protect life by all means, and not destroy it. (The Heart Is Most Important) "One day of life is far greater than all the treasures of the major world system" Peace, Culture and Education are of the greatest importance. Our determinations and efforts can and will change our way of life, and our Nation and so on to the rest of the free World. World Peace and Happiness for all mankind is our responsibility. (Our true purpose in life.) Never begrudge one's life for the sake and happiness of others. True Wisdom and Compassion comes from within, and no where else. True happiness wells from within each and every one of us. Not from an external entity. We all posses this great heart of eternal happiness, that starts with a single understanding of life and that is "Appreciation". (Like the Sun, even on a cloudy day the sun still shines brightly high above.) No one has the right to decide anyone's or another persons happiness. This comes from you and you alone. You cannot take money or fame with you when you die, but absolute happiness you can, it lives on throughout eternity. Absolute happiness begins now (Nam-myoho-renge-kyo), not when you die. The mere thought that sufferings go away when one dies or happiness begins when one dies, is an incorrect statement or way to look at life in its entirety. Life continues after death and so does or happiness. i.e. " True Entity of All Phenomena" Happiness begins in our present form or state of life. This is the truth about life. All our lives. How wonderful, how wonderful. I continue to pray for all of you. "Nam-myoho-renge-kyo" Best of wishes for a most happy and joyful Holiday season, and a most prosperous New Year for all. Let's do our best to bring this world of ours to World Peace. "World Peace, actual proof of real happiness" This begins with dialogue and dialogue alone. Happiness and prosperity for each and every one of us.
