People, I could quote you the statistics for casualties in each of the wars, but this post is about the casualties you seldom hear about, and if you do hear of them, you don't think of them as casualties per say.     I'm talking about the veterans who come home and suffer injuries and illnesses that eventually take their lives.     Let me tell you, they are just as dead as the soldier who caught a bullet or was killed in the numerous ways that man has devised to end lives, only the bullet that is killing us is slow and painful and we see death coming.     Yet we won't be counted at all, there are no memorials to us. Most of us are forgotten by not only those who sent us to war, but by those we fought to keep free.     I'll wager a bet that most of you know of a vet, or are related to a vet, that has died, or is dieing from Agent Orange.     How many of you realize that Agent Orange was just one of the many chemicals we had to deal with?     For instance besides Agent Orange ( Dioxin mixed with jet fuel), there was Agent Brown ( Dioxin mixed with muddy river water), Agent White ( Dioxin mixed with clean water and in the case of my own personal exposure, Agent Pink (pure Dioxin).     It would take pages to list all the toxic chemicals used by the military and that soldiers deal with on a daily basis.     Have any of you ever been inside a VA hospital?     Do you know that there are those who have never seen the outside of a hospitals walls since returning home? Do you know that many never will?     My whole point of this post is that I ask you, I literally beg you, do not turn your back on the wounded.     Our battles still rage on.     In this a day and time where our president made the biggest cuts in VA benefits in war time history, I plead with you to demand justice for us.     Contact your congressmen and senators and tell them this is simply unacceptable.     We can not be used then thrown away.     Also, when you see that old veteran standing outside in the cold asking for donations to help disabled vets, give all that you can.     Remember folks, it is those veterans in much need of help, that are the reason you have anything to give at all!     Remember we are Fathers, Mothers, Sons, Brothers, Sisters, and Aunts and Uncles.     We gave our lives and am still giving them.     All we ask in return is that you not turn your backs on us now that it is WE who need YOU.      So says, Spirit Hawk ^i^
