A MATTER OF CHOICE - A Grandfather Story April 29, 2008 Spirit Hawk ^i^ |

A young boy sits at his
grandfather's knee. He is very sad and crying because he does not
understand why other children bully and tease him and why so many people
deliberately do things hurtful to others.
He looks up into his grandfather's face with tears in his eyes and asks his grandfather why this is so? His grandfather softly places his hand on his grandson's shoulder and answers," People do things for many, many reasons grandson, or so it is that they will tell you. They hate, mistreat others, steal, lie and do harm ....all for the very same reason that others love, help those in need, seek truth and justice and strive to do good." The little boy looks up into his grandfather's eyes even deeper than before and with a very puzzled look upon his small face asks, " I do not understand grandfather, how can this be so? How can bad be done by people for the very same reason as others do good?" "It's really very simple," answered grandfather, " The reason they do so is because they simply CHOOSE TO. The path they walk is a dark one grandson but it is the choice that they themselves make! Now, grandson, you do not have to be like those who hurt you and those who choose to do harm. Instead be wise in the choices you yourself make. Remember that everyone and everything that exists are all made by the same Creator and show each the respect that they, or it, duly deserves. You do this grandson and you will always walk in beauty and the Creator will always smile down upon you. " A smile grows on the little boy's face as he wipes away his tears....
